Today our other group was supposed to go fishing but unfortunately it was rescheduled due to weather. This meant the agenda for today included going to the Norman Lowell Art Gallery and the Homer Spit for some shopping. We all really enjoyed going to the gallery to see Lowell’s paintings. Our tour also included seeing their original home on the homestead and Lowell’s studio. Lowell started going blind after he started painting and as his vision decreased he had to work more based on memory. It was interesting to see how his paintings changed with his vision. The next stop for the day was the Homer Spit. There were lots of neat shops and we even got to see the famous Salty Dawg and hang a dollar on the wall. After our shopping we got some coffee and smoothies and raced back for some intense volleyball games. Our tournament started today and we have already played through the first round. Although it was not the Saturday we pictured, it was a lot of fun and we are resting up for our glacier hike tomorrow.
